a quick update of the last couple of weeks:
week-end of 22/23 july:
fran and alex came to stay friday night, as did stella, rich and the pies - fran and alex decided to sleep in the garden but had to scuttle indoors when the heavens opened for the first time in yonks
stella, clara and i visited cat and freddie on friday evening and everyone seemed to get at least one visit in over the w/end
eric and janey were also down - planned in any case because of the battle proms - but mainly to see their first grand-pie
battle proms were very exciting with all the cannon, fireworks and horsemanship displays - but the best was the traditional bits with the flag-waving at the end - and the lovely company of course: john and denny, sheila, dave and jane, john and jude and e, j and me
week-end of 29/30 july:
david and becky's wedding on the sunday at hoole hall was very enjoyable - the wedding party looked wonderful - loved the colours!! - and it was good to meet with friends for a chat - all of us 'oldies' sat in the reception area well away from the disco and caught up on our news
i stayed in a marvellous b and b - lucky choice as it was only one i had found on the internet - but i thought it the nicest place i have ever stayed - greenlooms cottage about 6 miles from chester gets my vote for b and b of the decade!!
